She entertained thousands of guests while travelling the oceans as one of the world's most famous cruise ships.
Now the QE2 is set to welcome visitors again as the liner throws down the gangplank for the first time in three years.
The vessel, which has faced an uncertain future since arriving in her final port of Dubai, will host a New Year's Eve party this year.

An Emirati event planning company is behind the event and says that the party will include live music, a fireworks display and a laser light show.

The company, Global Event Management, said most revellers will be invited guests, though a limited number of tickets will also go on sale, although their prices have not been released.
The party is a black-tie affair affair and is described as 'one of the most exclusive New Year celebrations in the world'
