Updating via Steam
« on: June 04, 2011, 15:38:58 »

Hi guys, I'm hoping someone can offer a little advice here.
I'm running a Steam version of SSE which is still showing as 'BUILD 1040 - VERSION 1.2.2'. No matter how many times I fire it up to play it, Steam doesn't seem to want to update it to the latest version. I remember having a few problems months ago when I updated it last but can't remember how I got it to update. Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks,
C.

Alright, it looks like something is stopping steam from getting through to your game, let's try a few things. Disable your anti-virus then do the updating process, let me know if it worked out  ;)

Sometimes STEAM updates, but fails to change the version & build number.
Are you sure that the update has not been done?
In any case, this is a matter that you should take up with STEAM because they, not VSTEP, are responsible for updating your game.

Has your game got the PoR with opening Stern door?

And the mission editor. Because then you're atleast on 1.3.0

Hi and thanks for your replies...
Yes I do have the mission editor and the PoR does have opening stern doors. By this I assume I'm on the latest version?
On multiplayer when I try to join someone elses game it sometimes tells me I need to upgrade to the latest version but I'm guessing that could be a glitch caused my my version number displaying incorrectly.
Has anyone found a solution to to correct this?

Thanks,
C.

Oh good now there's no reason not to try out my horn pack, If you guy's are willing to try those changes as well. I had a member that PM'ed me about my sound pack, and he was fully happy and no problems with the game.

steam should automatically update your game, but if not, than go to ur library. sse should be there. right click on it. go down to "properties". select the tab that says "updates". than click the large box there and select "always keep this game up to date". if that doesnt do it, i dont know wat will
