How to install shipyard add-ons to Ship Simulator 2008?

I got Ship Simulator 2008 and I downloaded the Red Jet super pack add-on of the shipyard section. How do i install it into the game?

Hello William,

Welcome to the Forum.

First and foremost please register the License key of your legal copy of SS2008 in your Profile in this Forum. This action will allow you access to all SS2008 boards in the Forum including Tech Support.

I am sure when you opted to download the "Red Jet" you would have chosen to save the "ShipSim2008Addon_RedJetSuperPack_Setup.exe" file. You have to figure out in which folder it has been saved in. When you do, all you have to do is to double click on this file and it will get automatically installed into SS 2008. It works the same way for all free add on packs, however to use some of them you will also require the add on pack called "New Horizons". It will tell you so in each of the packs whether you require New Horizons or not.

sorry i'm all new to this i found the folder but it only contains an Actors folder, a unins000. dat file , and a unsins000 file i really don't know what to do. Thanks

BTW which version of SS2008 do you have? I hope you have applied all the updates.

I released all of the Super Packs for Ship Simulator 2008, so perhaps I can help. When you download any of the super packs, select to "run" or "install" the file (the exact wording depends upon your browser).

Accept all the defaults (just keep clicking "OK") and when the process has finished, you will find that Red Jet has been updated and that in your "Custom Missions" folder, there are a number of new missions.

If you still have problems, send me a private message and I'll talk you through it all. You'll be amazed at how simple it is once you've done it.

Yeah, Terry was the ace when it came to all the Super Packs and thanks to him that we got the many add ons.

He has indeed given you the gist of how to go about installing an add on pack. I have made a Word document (see attachment) showing screen shots as they appear which I hope would guide you with the installation.

...and a friendly reminder again. Please register the License key.

I have got ship sim 2008 and the v1.4.2 and the downloads from the shipyard do not work and i have givin up because  i have tryed to install the packs so many times so can one of you please help me.

I did not get any doc thats the prob and theres no readme file so i cant look to see were to put it

Her you have it, this explane all rutins for install
when you have downloaded the files, double click on the files to run them
then it will install it self in the right place

it asks me to browser for the location and even if i ceep it were it says it still dose not show up in the simulator
the one did which it is Ocean Star Super Pack but if i click on it it dose not have a pic and it says put in key WHAT KEY?! but all the other ones dont show up at all the only one that works is the jumbo shiping one that you get for puting your key in the forum

Hi Kevin
Each of the packs tell you what is required I/E 2008 +New Horizons
So if you only have 2008 they are the only add on packs that will work.
For the rest of the packs you will need New Horizons, Elbe ,Fury,and Jumbo Javlin.

ye i know that but the jumbo javlin works and just remember some of them say that you dont have to have new horizons but just some of the missions wont work if you dont have it  but im saying the ones without new horizons dont even work  i have gotten one of them to work not counting jumbo javlin

As I have Stated they may not need New Horizons BUT MAY NEED  Elbe or Fury and
will ask for key for required ships.

even if they not say they ned NH some of the missions can have AI Ships that are included in NH and then they will not work for you if you not have that
