Hello Tman,

We need something called a "Dxdiag". This gives a fair idea if your computer is suitable to run Ship Simulator.

To generate a Dxdiag of your computer, please follow this tutorial:-

Hi tman, I would say your system is a bit low on all departments
-XP needs service pack 3 nowadays
-required is a Pentium4, 3Ghz
-RAM could be a bit more
-the main problem would be your graphics card..  A Geforce 8800GT is minimum..

Hello Tman,

The main drawback in your computer is that the graphics card is way below what is recommended for SSE (Geforce 8800 GT). Your GeForce 7300 GT is not capable of supporting SSE.

In terms of the processor and RAM they are suitable for SSE but your Windows XP has to updated with Service Pack 3. Currently it has been updated only up to Service Pack 2

Edit: As Salty says ..... your 2.8 Ghz processor will just about make the grade but you will have to increase the RAM to 4 GB

Your computer should run the game, however, you should expect very low FPS, and it is highly recommendable that you reduce the AA filter, all the effects, and stuff like that.

A nice tool to see what components you have, in a more organized way that DxDiag gives, is HWiNFO32, where you have the option to create a report and then choose "short text report" that gives you this:

Quote
Computer:      Hewlett-Packard HP G62 Notebook PC
CPU:           Intel Core i3-350M (Arrandale Trans. SV, C2)
               2266 MHz (17.00x133.3) @ 1253 MHz (7.00x179.1)
Motherboard:   Hewlett-Packard 1439
Chipset:       Intel HM55 (IbexPeak-M DH)
Memory:        3072 MBytes @ 533 MHz, 7.0-7-7-20
               - 2048 MB PC10600 DDR3 SDRAM - Samsung M471B5673FH0-CH9
               - 1024 MB PC10600 DDR3 SDRAM - Samsung M471B2873FHS-CH9
Graphics:      Intel Auburndale/Arrandale Processor - Integrated Graphics Controller [Hewlett-Packard]
Intel HD Graphics (Ironlake), 0 MB
Drive:         Hitachi HTS725025A9A364, 244.2 GB, Serial ATA 3Gb/s
Drive:         hp       CDDVDW TS-L633N, DVD+R DL
Sound:         Intel 5 Series/34x0 Chipset PCH - High Definition Audio Controller [B2]
Network:       Broadcom 4313 802.11b/g/n
OS:            Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium (x64) Build 7601

Which I think that is the essential, for small "problems" like this.

HWiNFO32:
http://www.hwinfo.com/download32.html

However, the only option that you have is to upgrade your computer, since SSE is more demanding than SS08, and your graphic card is way below the minimum requirement, and CPU too.

EDIT: Forgot to say that Speccy is a very good tool too, it gives much more detailed info, much more organized, and also creates an online report that users can publish here for us:

If it's the System Requirements for SSE that you are referring to, then here it is.

Please see attachment.
