Totally agree with supafly!!!

Vstep may not have the resources that Microsoft do but i think they should focus on releasing the next version of SS not with more ports but with ports that you can sail between.  Why not just have just a europe "sail around area"  so that you can sail from hamburg to southampton and round to Rotterdamn without a mission editor and it reloading.  at least then only with Europe you have limited the area and reduced the workload then releasing add ons for N. America... Asia and Oceania etc.  However i do think that saying a "flight sim" start here and fly feature will not be available for some time...  but then i dont work for Vstep so i cant tell ya!

As far as individual ports... Hong Kong sounds good with the tricky currents and the largest container terminal in the world and i fancy somewhere like Syndey Australia or Fort laurderdale Florida... a notible non-european port just for a little chage in scenery.

Very true!  Having a few reasonably close ports to sail between, that would also work for the multiplayer environment, would be great.  One of the problems we have here on this side of the pond though is the great distance between ports of any significnace.  Just look at Boston and New York.  These are certainly two of the largest ports in the North East U.S., but to sail between them takes at least 20-hours at a reasonalby realistic cruising speed.  That does not take into account docking and undocking iterations.  As for me I would dearly love to be able to sail between two ports online.  No matter where they were.  ::)

How about an area of the Greek Islands.
The Greeks split their islands comveniently into groups eg Ionic, Cyclades, Sporades, Dodecanese etc.   Another option could be just to do Crete as there are numerous bays and harbours all around it.
With the ships we have at the moment the PoR could do the main ferry routes and the Red Jet or Hovercaft could run the Flying Dolphin routes but some island ferry size passenger ships would be good(We seem to be either very large or very small)

1. Extend Padstow to at least Port Isaac so we can sail between ports.
2. Milford Haven (S.Wales) - a huge sea inlet with many docks and a deepwater oil terminal.

Vancouver.   The largest port in Canada and one of the largest in the world - with a great harbour layout and mooring basin and much more.

Of course I have absolutely no bias in stating the above.   ;)

I think Southampton to Freemantle Route maybe, it is quite long though the MV Funchal does this route with ports of call at: Lisbon, Messina, Piraeus, Santorini, Rhodes, Limassol, Port Said, Sharm-El-Sheik, Aqaba, Port Victoria, Praslin Is., Port Louis. alot of ports but i would like mainly Fremantle and the MV Funchal i've been on it at new years very nice

I would really like to see one of the Norwegian fjords in the next Ship Sim. The Geirangerfjord would be the best option, as it is the most popular fjord when it comes to cruise-ships.

Living down here anyway, I'd really like to see the approaches to, the river at Milford Haven (there are a few oil terminals / marinas are there).

However, what would also be great would be the upper reaches of the Bristol Channel, including the likes of Cardiff, Newport, and the docks around Bristol as well - navigating the Severn would be the challenge there with the larger ships :)

Yipee - another vote for Bristol Channel and Milford Haven - great areas with plenty of scope  Larger ships for Milford Haven and medium ones for BC   the whole lot in one environment would be mind blowing (maybe mine's blown already ) :P

How about the Belgian port of Zeebrugge. It's pretty big and complex. Just arrived back from holiday after sailing out of it. Aboard the Pride of York to Hull.
