Why did the required processor speed rise?
« on: March 07, 2011, 01:06:14 »

I meant to post this a while ago, but after something was released (I think it was the first patch), the necessary processor speed rose from 2.66GHz to 3GHz.

Shouldn't these types of things be avoided by something like raising the required speed in the development of the game?

Hi Casey,

How did you observe a rise in the clock speed of the processor? Where exactly did it show 2.66 Ghz initially and then 3.0 Ghz?

Pretty much what I said.

As far as I know, it's been 3.0 from release and some time before.

But, there was a very early indication during development, that showed a wee bit lighter specs, and I do think it was a lower processor speed at first. That was merely a prediction at that time though. Maybe that's the one you meant. I don't recall it being after a patch.

It says 3.0Ghz on my box version and that's before any patching, so why would they print it on the box if it hadn't been like that yet?   ;D

I reckon you got the early prediction in mind, then.

And why it got higher, well.. cause the game turned out to be a little heavier.  :)

Regards,
Fred
