Mission editor question
« on: January 15, 2011, 06:18:43 »

Hi if you make a mission and you want it to be a personal just for you thing then why can't you just upload it to your computer and not to the ship sim server thing. If my mistake messed up anyone sorry but it's very annoying when an email from the ship aim people send u an email and get it long after it was sent because you live in america and then continue doing the wrong thing so sorry.

I think perhaps you just need to study it a bit better.
Cause that has little to do with the power of the editor, and more about your understanding of it, I think.  ;D

Check the editor notes, page 6.... in this topic you'll find it:

http://80.95.161.114/shipsim/forum/index.php/topic,19793.0.html

And a little FYI..  email does not take longer to reach you because you're in America. The internet isn't that slow.  :P

The CMMs just need time to respond, obviously. If and when your wrongly submitted mission has been checked, then they send the email. Location in the world has very little to do with it, apart from timezones of course.

I adapted the title of the topic. It wasn't really fair to blame the editor when you're just not clear on how to use it.  ;)

Kind Regards,
Fred

RCIfan,
Why would you need to upload to your computer when the mission is already on your computer?
All you need to do is save the mission in the editor; it is then on the list of missions in the SSE main menu.
The Mission Editor Notes explain what to do, and tell you in red letters not to upload missions just to play them.
Maykel’s guide also explains what uploading means. You should have read at least one of those documents before you started messing around with the editor.

The CMM's all just use their own internet providers. Email works just like any other one you send between you and friends or family members, or who ever.

How long it takes their provider to send things along or your provider to present it to you, no idea, because that may vary. But on the whole, emails just go through within minutes. And also there might be a timezone difference at play of course.

But anyway, that still doesn't change the fact that you should first, as also indicated by mvsmith, read up on the editor and understand how it works before taking a guess with it and then making claims about it if that guesswork ends up to be wrong..   ;)
