They'll be fine I hope...they seem to have revived themselves a bit. France has just declared war against me so i'm hoping to get rid of them soon and make an alliance with the Dutch, then I can start invading Austria

You'll be happy to know that i've taken France now

However...Holland has been taken by Prussia, and I have an alliance with them...so unfortunately, unless they rebel, it's bye bye Holland :-\

It's not as easy as it might seem

I also had Spain, however, France declared war against me, so I decided I was fed up with them and sent 4 of my forces up to take Flanders/Alsace Lorraine/Paris etc, to totally wipe them out. This meant I had no forces in Madrid, and of course, in my absence, they rebelled, and took the capital again...so I am currently assembling a new army to go take them again.

Problem is with Empire Total War is that you cannot advance with a 'blitzkrieg' approach - not unless you have the forces in which to do that. Major powers such as France, if you conquer them, will have a high public unrest for about 10-15 turns, so that means unless you have a big wedge of money, you can't steamroller other countries until public unrest is low.

Another problem is that countries such as Prussia or Austria, for example, when they expand, they take lots of different areas here there and everywhere. So, that means you have to conquer each little bit to wipe them out, which makes life very hard, whilst you try and squash rebellions and fight their armies.

Not only that, but sometimes you just can't take countries when you want to...since if everyone dislikes you, you will be getting punched by lots of angry countries from all sides ...so it is a slow process at times :-\

p.s. I downloaded it last night Lars, but haven't got round to installing it yet. I'll let you know as soon as I install it :2thumbs:

BOOOOOO!!!

Sorry to TJK, Captain Best, and all other Norwegian users...just invaded Norway ...BUT, i've been nice, and made them a protectorate...so in other words I get to rob half of their overall income

Built a bunch of forts to the East of France, since i'm going to keep that as my stronghold...intending to invade Austria now and meet Russia in the middle, since they've advanced quite heavily into Europe. Hoping to take Sweden before the Russians do.

Next job on the list is to defeat what's left of the Mughal Empire and the Ottomans...after that it'll probably be a war with Russia and Spain, then finally, the US

Update:

Pretty much steamrollered any countries left in Europe, and have started my offensive against Russia...I've taken most of their Western territory in Europe and will soon circle them around Moscow.

After Russia falls I'll flatten America

Haha thanks ;D

Well, I'm hoping to land on their shores in almost one go. First I'll need to use one turn to take out their navy, which is quite extensive, then once I have naval supremacy I'll land 5/6 large armies reasonably evenly distributed along their coastline, then I'll break up a few of my armies to take territories further inland which aren't manned. Since I already have a few footholds, I can back up my overseas army and feed in my troops from territory already there, if needs be, however, I'm looking to try wipe them out fairly quickly.

Don't worry, you have until tomorrow afternoon to escape
