Hello Salty,
Traddles is quite right, and the controls should have been like he explained and showed in the pictures. If I understood what you meant, you also agree? The possibility to adapt the parameters of the controls was so near to the release of the patch that there has been almost no time to check. You certainly know that in order to change such things, the program must be modified and tested before the remarks of the testers and of the players can be fixed, and after the fix everything should be checked by the testers. But even if it seems relatively simple, it is also not necessarily a quick process.
Mouse controls, keyboard default assignments, graphical indications must match the virtual pivots, foils and forces for each ship, each with its own parameters. Finally, the difference is just about 2 missing check marks.
To solve the question, a steering wheel will be -if things turn well- placed at the steering console, turning as required by international standards since some time, and already discussed in the forum. The 360° azimuth controls will be used for manoeuvring, and the wheel for steering up to an angle of 35°.
It should simulate (parts of the operation of) the steering system of such ships.
Regards,
Luc
