POR bow thruster problems
« on: October 07, 2010, 21:11:27 »

I sail in circles with POR, bow thruster blocks and continues at full speed.
So i turn to one hundred percent on POR portside, I can not stop it, why?
Rudder repond weird and I can hardly reduce speed.
It seems everything is blocked at one hundred percent.

This does seem to be a small problem with some peoples bow thrusters, I also have an issue with some crafts thrusters.  Maybe this is the next big thing after the chart/radar issue has been resolved perhaps VSTEP could please look at this one as its really annoying.  Cheers.

One thing I noticed on the smaller tug (can't remember its name) which has dual front azipods... Say for example you are travelling forwards (azipods at zero degrees) and then you begin to rotate them all the way through 180 degrees until you are going astern. If you then continue beyond 180 degrees, rather than continuing to rotate in the same direction, the azipods travel the 'long way round' almost 360 degrees in the opposite direction.

I'm sure that can't be right  ???

Hi ScubaChris, you mean the Bugsier 2..
I have no problems with the "azipods", (actually azimuth thrusters), they turn 360 and more..
Have you tried toggling on "precision steering"  (F12)  ?

Here's a nice model of her.. :)

What a very nice model!  :2thumbs:

Back on topic....have anyone noticed that POR's stern thrusters have now disappeared? She now only have bow thrusters.

I wonder if Vstep had been told by P&O they can't add stern thruster on POR, since in real life she doesn't have them (I think!)......or this just an unintended glitch as a result of patch v1.2.2?

POR has only bow thrusters, this was already discussed on the forum.
But what do I with the POR bow thruster that isn't working?
Anyone else has this problem?

Sometimes the thrusters didn't respond when I used the mouse. Then I assigned keys to them and now they work well using both the mouse and keyboard.

POR has only bow thrusters, this was already discussed on the forum.

POR (in SSE) used to have bow and stern thrusters, apparently to help with berthing at Dover. When V1.2.2 patch was applied, the stern thruster disappeared.

(p.s. yes, I did know POR only had bow thrusters in real life)

Yeah Kev, they demand realism, but only when it doesn’t make things hard.

After reinstalling SSE, I still have problems.
I can not get controle of POR,I have bow thruster problems, rudder problems and engine problems, why??

I can not stop POR right engine, she goes always 100% ahead.
Impossible to stop right engine, she is blocked!! Left
engine, no problem.

Bow thruster does not works on starbord side,
port side is fine but sometimes she blocks

Rudder does not react like it should. Can turn left, not right.
When I turn left, rudder blocks, I start to sail in circles,
there is nothing I can do, rudder also blocks

What can I do?
Who can help me please?
