I can't think of a single film about ships that doesn't have me screaming at the screen shout "no way, that could never happen".  As for the various pieces of nonsense which are the Poseidon films I just cringe.

I don't recall any mention of The Hunt for Red October (other than mvsmith's list) Of which, stars several soviet submarines (of the red october class), and a few tugs, and well as a few Los Angeles class Subs and a Nimitz class aircraft carrier.
