Powerboat Topic
« on: March 05, 2010, 21:33:23 »

By Popular Request, a topic for powerboat enthusiasts, for the discussion of powerboats. P1, C1, whatever. This is the SPEED topic!

Hope you enjoy!

So, where's your favourite venue, and what's your favourite boat?

Mine are Plymouth and the King of Shaves/Negotiator!

My favorite powerboat is Miss Geico. It's just so freakin' dope! Her speed-record is, I think 210 mph and that's pretty awesome. It's pretty good engineering ;)

This topic's about powerboats in general, not just in SS08!

But I wouldn't mind a drag boat  ::)

Wouldn't an opportunity to trim and tilt the faster boats in SSE be great for different weather conditions etc? In rough sea tilt the angle down to get more hull in the water and get it more stable, and in flat water tilt it up to go faster and maximize the boats performance. I would really like to have it on the RIB and hopefully on the miss geico and a f1 if it'll be in too :lol: It would really increase realisme to the game!

What do you guys think? They have it in GTA 4 so why not in SSE?

But still it's a shame there isn't or, I think, will be in SSE when GTA 4 have it, and that's a game being far from specailized in boats... I do really think it's hard to make, but I believe VStep could be able to do it if they liked to :)

the reason it is done so easily in GTA IV is because the dynamics are far from real, which doesn't make it that hard. Read Some of Marty's posts in the other topic about this subject and you'll see how many calculations and whatnot are included. This probably isn't needed in GTA IV as much as in this game.

not in the same way, they get airborne just because of waves if you trim it in a right way.
