Hi everyone, I was reading Joke of the Day, and I happen to look at Aad's post count and look what it said?

I refreshed the page, and it was gone. :o

And VSTEP, or at least one of the admins, decided it would be cool that if you have 1337 posts to just have it say leet.

It's part of the forum software.. There is a mod by the Dev team that removes it from the software...

Also known as L337 or L33t or 1337. This is (amongst other things) a language used in chat rooms where letters are replaced by numbers and symbols (Iri5h J4ack for example). Words may also be mispelled.

It's a programmer's joke (I use the term loosely) and is apparently buried in a number of BBS software packages, in various guises.

So here, when the post count reached 1337, it states "leet".  As another example, enter "BBS software leet" into Google. In the list of matches, it will highlight those words and the numbers 1337 and 337.

Programmers! Who'd have them?

Terry, thanks for that definition. But if it's all the same to you, I'd use another word... And it is exactly the same as the one you use when describing people making pancakes or throwing a coin to decide head or tails...

That said these people do give out some damned good software for no charge, so I shan't be TOO critical of them  :)
