At least thay are not calling them anything with Dover in the name.  There are far too many bloody Dovers down there already, port of Dover, Maersk Dover, Pride of Dover, radio must be a nightmare.

sorry, my bad, looks like there gona be renamed yet again, i dont see as to why they just call them Pride of Dover(2) and Pride of Calais(2) like they have done in the past with other ships and keeping their "Pride of" prefix.

It was going to be OLYMPIC SPIRIT and OLYMPIC PRIDE, but the word 'Olympic' would fall foul of infringement rights under the English law, so P&O had to change the name.

OLYMPIC SPIRIT became SPIRIT OF BRITAIN, and OLYMPIC SPIRIT became SPIRIT OF FRANCE.

I have to say that I hated the original name, so I was very pleased that the 2012 London Organising Committee had forced P&O to change the new ferries' name.
