That's why I'll be surprised if that happens.  ;D

Agreed, A brilliant christmas superpack, Terry! Love the new ship, good to see her back from SS06, she's very towable(!).

I take it that's the original model? What changes did you have to make to get her into SS08?

Is it possible that the SS06 yacht could make a triumphant return?

Oh and is it possible to reskin the bouys then?

Actually, it made it into the game as the AI Small Container Vessel. I took that as my starting point and then remade it as a new playable vessel, as the AI is just a hull, basically. It took about 3-4 months of work. A lot of that was work on turning the 3D model into a working ship. That's where the real hard work is conducted (the model is less than 10% of the total work required. But that 10% is still a huge amount of work).

Unfortunately the 2006 ships aren't transferable. Sorry. I'd love that Super Yacht as well. If I could, I would.

Yes, the buoys are sort of reskinable. But due to the way that the skins wrap around, you can't get stripes etc. Otherwise I'd have done that as well!

The testers have also done a marvellous job, providing me with lots of good information about the handling of the vessel and its lighting and mooring and turning and so on.

Ok, thanks for the info!

I've just checked the download function and found a couple of minor problems. So I've fixed them and uploaded an update. Some people might not have got all the missions installed when they clicked the relevant buttons. That should work OK now.

The "Container Trials" mission had a waypoint that had decided to go and live on the land. I've fixed that. Strange, as it was fine in my version that I uploaded. Must have got corrupted along the way somewhere!

If you have already downloaded and installed the game, you should do it again, and all will be installed for you.

I hope everyone has been enjoyng the add-on packs this year, they are really good arent they!  ;)

Like I said before everyone on the team works extremely hard to get these packs ship-shape for the shipsim players to play them, from small things like testing the missions to bigger things like making fully playable ships.
Its amazing what can be achieved.

Many kind regards to the team:

Its a pleasure working with you all, and I would like to wish you all a very happy christmas and new year.

Many Kind Regards...

Sorry, Matt. I left you off the list. You've been super-glued back in place now.

Hi SD.

Probably not. I haven't modelled the interior apart from the bridge. But in Extremes......  ;)

I'd love to use the add ons. After I've installed them, they appear in the Custom Missions folder but when I try to play that sim they report that there is no such ship in the game.

What can I do to fix this please?

AMD3700, 4 Gb DDR, XPsp3, 9800GT NVidia card and all the other stuff you'd expect. Works fine with basic SS2008.

All guidance appreciated

Folks
Thank you all for the hard work you have put into giving us more reason to love this sim. It was a perfect way to end the year for me, and a great way to launch the new version.
Merry Christmas, Happy New Year to you all!!

Sounds like you don't have New Horizons installed. Many of the missions ned the extra ships that come with it. If you look at the readme file, it tells you which ones don't need it. One of them is £San Francisco Cargo Run". Try that one first.
