Demo graphics problem
« on: November 16, 2009, 21:26:00 »

In the Ship Simulator 2008 demo, when I start the game it loads fine, but the water is wireframe. I change the graphics settings to the lowest, and change the resoulution, but nothing fixes it. Any help?

Hi bdude,
I have moved your topic as requested. It would help if you could post your DxDiag so that we can look to see where the problem may lie. It seems as if your computer might well be below the minimum srecifications to run the game. I'm not 100% sure of this from the info. you give though.

Unfortunately, your graphics card doesn't meet the minimum requirements and will not be able to render the ocean.

The minimum requirements are:

    * Operating system: Windows 2000, XP or Vista
    * Processor: Pentium 4 2.4GHz or AMD equivalent
    * Memory: 1GB (Windows 2000/XP) or 2GB (Vista)
    * Graphics card: GeForce 5900 or ATI 9600 Pro / X600 (128MB)
    * Audio devices: Sound card
    * Input controller: Mouse with scroll wheel
    * Optional controllers: Joystick, Joypad or Steering wheel

I guess I'll just have to find some other simulation since I don't want to pay $70 just to play one game :(

Helo!

hmmm i mean you should buy the new graphic card!

Because ther's note just for Ship Simulator... SS is using normal requirements...
With this Graphic card you WOUN'T be able to play any of the new games like and some more power games...

I advice you to buy the new graphic card...
But do wat you want...

Good bye!

That's weird because I get the same problem with the full game with low waves.

but my graphics card is a Saphire ATI Radeon 9600 Pro (256mb)
