The weather was crappy, but the ship was beautiful.

I went to the IJmuiden locks on a special occasion which I have mentioned before.
Because more ships were there at the site, I'm going to make this a...

IJMUIDEN SPECIAL!  :2thumbs:

here are the pics:

I think you confused her with the Millenium as they are of the same class.
I also have taken a look on the cruise schedule of Willemstad and I only saw the Millenium which last visited Willemstad in late April.

Here is the schedule:

If the weather holds up in the weekend than I'll be able to see the Westerdam which I didn't got the chance to see her before.

BUT, if the weather is really good (ALL DAY LONG), than I'm going to visite the SS Rotterdam!!  :2thumbs:
But I have to say again, it all depends on the weather.

'Queen Victoria' is Cunard's latest in-service cruise liner, their latest ship is the 'Queen Elizabeth' which is due in service very soon.

Most of the Dutch lifeboats, except the ones stationed on the north coast, have some kind of construction on the stern, to lift the person horizontal out of the water due to hyperthermia  :)

Today we go back in time to the late 60's on Holland's pride:

SS Rotterdam!  :2thumbs:

I shall give you all a guided tour through the parts of the ship I have been.  :)

My dad and I had a ticket reservation on 14:00 and we were right on time  :)

Here I stand on the stern of the ship with the first picture I have made while being on the ship.

The Promonade on Promonade Deck, also an odd smell of salami was noticed here

The Grand Staircase on Promonade deck

Upper Promonade Deck towards the stern

Upper Promonade Deck towards the bow

Here we stand on this little foredeck just above the bowdeck

Here we stand on the bow

Boat Deck which is just behind the Upper Promonade Deck

Here we stand on the Bridge deck which is above the Upper Promonade deck and before the Sun Deck.

Now we go into the bridge itself

Here we go through the radio and wireless rooms

Here we went towards the stern on the Boat deck

And from that part of the deck we climbed up to the Sun Deck

Now we go our we towards the engine rooms through several rooms
(Smoking Room on Upper Promonade deck)

(Grand Ball Room)

(Dining Room on B Deck)

(Pool on D Deck)

Now we go our way into the engine rooms

(A piston for one of the stabilizers)

(And here we are in the shaft alley)

(one of her steam turbines and boiler rooms)

(This is what appears to be some kind of motherboard)

After this we took a hall which leads to a staircase which goes to the upper decks

Eventually we came out on the upper promonade deck and than we found our way out off the ship.
Here are the last few photographs of the ship

We stayed 2 hours on this ship...

After we got off the ship, we were heading straight for the Westerdam.  :)

I hope you all have liked the tour and if not, no returns
