Ships sinking and recues response realism
« on: August 08, 2009, 18:54:08 »

id like to see an increase in the realism in the rescue missions particullary ships can actually sink and catch on fire also have a damage control crew on board the larger vessels that you can train and depending upon thare training it affects thare performence in a real virtual emergency as for the fires id like to see realistic fires that can be out out by damage control and by other players in fire boats

Actually there in SSE will be probably options to extinguish the onboard fire by RPA12 as you can see in SSE screenshots.

That's one of the SSE promo shots, that was released, right?

Well.. maybe an artist impression of things to come, in absence of an allready functioning system?   :P

A similar thing was done with some SS08 features before they were even created, I recall.

Well, we were talking pro, and that's an SSE promo shot.. so not the same thing.  ;D

But I do reckon this is the one that causes the mixup, cause I heard that misconception a few times allready,

Hence me putting the pro features here.  ;D

You would be imagining wrong, there is no reason for it to be that way.  ;)

The same reason why SS06 hasnt got certain things that SS08 does have..

SS Pro V2.0 is a professional version of SS08. A new product right now, but based on the old game.

SSE, is the next, new version, more than SS08 was, with newer things in it. So things that may be developed for SSE, cannot be in Pro, cause they haven't been developed yet. Simple as that. Everyone keeps thinking SSE is a pro-light..  but that's not really the case, newer things will come along.

Pro might perhaps get newer features added as addons, or maybe certain clients get a custom made firefighting module to download for it, who can tell, you cannot compare the game with the professional version, it's usage and customers, that's for sure.

Right now, there is not guarantee whatsoever yet about SSE or all of it's features. There were screenshots of SS08 about with features that never made it.. yet..  So, at all times, things can change. Once the game is in for sale, and there is a fixed list of the features involved, then you know for sure.

Just remember that asking for XYZ such as fire fighting, realistic sinking, etc etc (all relevant and legitimate requests) will, if wish is granted, reduce the likelihood of new ships, harbours etc.

IF this isn't O/T can I ask people if they REALLY think the animated sinking was worth it and would they still have asked for it if they knew that it was instead of, FOR EXAMPLE, a new harbour?

Just my (pointless) thoughts..
