The Future of Ship Sim...
« on: July 02, 2009, 18:51:59 »

HI Guys!
Ive been thinking since simulations are somewhat new, well on computers, will they keep coming out every 2 years with a new sim? Like from 2006 they've been doing this so almost 4 years will this continue? Or will it eventually die out?  ??? Been wondering

Even the supreme Marmite Ruler cannot answer that one.

We'll have to see what happens, Matt. I often wonder too, but think about it - This is just the beginning, SS06 has only just gone (really, if you think about it).

I personally think that simulation software will continue to grow until computers are fast enough that there is no more development to be done on that front.  (This is estimated to happen in 2015)  Then there will be developments in the direction of making you feel more like you are actually on the ship such as: Wind, Spray, Lighting, Controls, and then what else could you ask for. ;D

A printer that printed you a real working ship, that would be awesome ;D

Yep. In time to come, people will just be in their own Virtual World. It's already happening!

Jack ;D

All of you are now hanging upside down in your vats of nutrient, with the electrodes in your brain making you believe that this is real.

Jack, for instance is located on floor 89775127789, in cubicle 785545771212333b on that floor, of course.

So for you, virtual worlds are a reality. And in your virtual worlds, you image that there are simulators.

Cool, eh?

you see 'the future of ship sim' got me thinking about ship sims future, but then i started thinking about the future, and came to the conclusion that ship sim like many other things will inevitably be destroyed in the apocaliptic world war 3 in 2025, when britain sinks into the sea, china and russia take over the world, and then have their own private battle, iraq and iran will be blown to smitherines, africa will no doubt somehow suffer the most despite being neutral, and the usa will be more contaminated with nuclear bombs than hiroshima, and everyone will be equally at fault in creating the end of the world basically, and so no civilisation will prevail, and anyone who wants to play ship sim will have to control the melted mouse with their mutated feet, playing an old version: ship sim 2016, in a dingy somehow undestroyed cupboard in chipping norton, which despite being in the UK that like I said earlier sunk, survived.

erm yer, sorry for my prediction of the future, but that is what will inevitably happen.......

You can imagine that you're running, but you can't hide.

All I have to do is to open the door to the cubicle in which your jelly-like form is immersed...
