Which is more appealing to you in Ship Simulator, the technical simulator aspects (such as docking, tugging, crane operations, etc.) or the fast, speedy arcade style of playing (such as races, ramping, and such):Technical. I'd like the experience to be as authentic as possible (although not to the extremes like Falcon 4.0 takes air simulation) - similar level to MS flight simulator takes flying - so that's it's still accessible to beginners. I'd like to see more civilian orientated things - like cruise liners (even made up ones, to fit budget constraints.

Any additional comments or suggestions welcome here: SS2006 was great. There seem to be quite a few graphical bugs in SS2008. I'm sure these will be corrected. I think the community needs to be more actively involved, such as ship modelling etc - so that if Vstep can't fulfill what we want, we can accomplish it ourselves.  :)

On a scale from 1-5, how would you rate Ship Simulator currently: 3 for SS2006. I haven't bought SS2008 yet.

Which is more appealing to you in Ship Simulator, the technical simulator aspects (such as docking, tugging, crane operations, etc.) or the fast, speedy arcade style of playing (such as races, ramping, and such): Tecnical simulator aspects.

Any additional comments or suggestions welcome here: I would see in the game, anchor handling and more intelligent sailling of indinintually moved vessels (avoiding collisions with the big ships like Titanic and container ship as the steering procedure of these ships is slow).
I also prefer to sail free between ports (maybe it's necessery a multiple speed running of the game - x2,x3,x4... - saving time due to long distances between ports).

Any additional comments or suggestions welcome here:

I just get bored sometimes when im traveling because of slow speeds usually...I wish there was a fast forward button or something. I love to dock boats, or manouvering in general. I would also like to see the cabin of ships or bridges to be more detailed and realistic, and that goes for people as well Because when i travel sometimes, i feel lonely that theres no one else onboard…I know, Vstep, that you cant do it all, but keep up the good work and keep improving!

docking and tugging along with ferry operations

Any additional comments or suggestions welcome here:
I think the game is coming along well, there are a few things I'd like to see
enhanced bridge equipment
I'd most like to see additional bridge equipment, perhaps era specific, it would also be great if you had the option to switch off the gps style cursor/nav fix and added a bearing readout to the binocs so that you could navigate by triangulation, dead reckoning etc.
night lighting on chart/bridge
night lighting on the bridge and a night pallette for the chart should be added as it's a bit jarring to switch from an outside view to a brightly lit bridge or chart.
timetabled missions
Also I'd like to see timetabled missions for ferries, not turning the game into a race game but
using a sensible real world time window eg time +/- 5 mins etc.
more detailed docking
It would also be great if docking ops could be further enhanced i.e. the ship must be parallel to the quay +/-5 degrees at a certain distance etc, also it would be great if the winches on the ships could be used to pull/slacken lines etc.
brighter buoys and lighthouses
It would be great if these could be seen at a greater distance and flashed as in the real world.

I like both really but swing more towards realism for sure! I love realism for sure!  ;D

Any additional comments or suggestions welcome here:

Also I would like more complex bridge controls, but perhaps the option to have simple and advanced for novice to expert. Also I think the ability to switch lights on and off is a good idea as well as window wipers and such. We do need a little more control over the various ship duties. However I still think the current game is fantastic  ;D

Please don't abandon this game VSTEP. I know people have been giving you bad comments because of this patch but don't give up and continue to develop this game PLEASE!!!
