Voting on Ship Simulator Professional.
« on: April 08, 2009, 11:59:42 »

Just a reminder to all players in case you have not spotted Franks request.
http://www.shipsim.com/ShipSimForum/index.php/topic,13704.0.html

I think it only right that we all vote on this subject as Vstep have put in, and are continuing to do so, a great deal of work on it. As you all know by now, this is a simulator for training in reality not just a game and as such can only be applauded.

Angus.

That seems to be a "wordless, but obligate" agreement not to vote several times. Hmm...am I alone with that point of view?

Hi Michael,
You are not alone. One might even question the propriety of voting for a game that one has not actually seen.

It looks like I am able to vote many times, so I tried that, but as expected the numbers of voters didn't change, so I guess it's there if you wan't to change your mind, GO shipsim Pro!

I think that the idiotic way polls are sometimes used on this forum has perhaps engendered a cavalier attitude toward more serious voting.
On the other hand, the same phenomenon is probably affecting the votes for the other nominees.

Please DO NOT try to vote more than once. This would be asking for SS Pro. to be disqualified due to false voting. Be sensible about this please.

Did it not occur to anyone that a large number of votes for a game that has not been released—even in beta—might draw suspicion?

Hi Dawg,

Indeed it was supposed to be for Ship Simulator Professional, which has not been released. I think that the serious intention of the contest was to have the various nominees evaluated by people who had actually seen them.

To encourage people to vote for an unknown entity because they like the entertainment version is strange, and probably not within the spirit of the contest.

Marty

If the Pro version has not yet been released, what are the training facilities doing with it..?
Indeed we are playing with the simpler version, but that is good enough for my vote.. :)

For the avoidance of doubt: There is more than one version of Ship Simulator Pro. The earlier version was installed at a number of training establishments.

The new V2 has been on trial by a number of training establishments, as well as the Beta testers, and others.
