Hi,
I woke up one morning to find it on my Vista machines. I’ve been too busy using it to learn much about it. Nothing bad has happened, so far, and it seems to be better at enlarging print, etc. while keeping things centered.

Likewise,it appeared on my Vista set-up after I said "go ahead".  ;D

Doesn't seem to be a major innovation. Seems more like V7.1 to me.

In former days, I don't think Microsoft would have classed it as a major upgrade. Maybe they're running out of things to blow the trumpets about. (Go on, Terry. Boldly split infinitives where no man has done before).

I'm just going to Keep Internet Explorer 7 I think ;D

I like to keep what I have, I'm not the sort of person that likes too much change, for example, a new MSN upgrade was released recently, but I haven't downloaded it yet, some say they have had problems once installing the new MSN?

Internet Explorer 8 is what I got and I like it. It make searching the web easier and better than the Internet Explorer 7 all the way to the first Internet Explorer. It even has a new tollbar at the top.

If I want to loose two inchess off the top of every screen, I have four basic options, I think:

(1) Use Vista with its stupid, wide-bordered, resource hogging default themes.

(2) Fill Internet Explorer with useless, resource hogging toolbars from MSN, Yahoo and everyone else and his brother.

(3) Stretch the picture past the borders of the screen

(4) And here's the best way: put some masking tape around the edge of the screen.

You can tell I'm not impressed, if you look arefully for the hidden meanings...

I'm not at all happy with it. >:( >:(  I downloaded it and it blew my computers mind. When I tried to open it a message came up to the effect that Windows refused access. I then deleted it off my machine and did three or four system restores to get IE 7 back and that was the end of that. When I try to open IE all that happens is a crash back to desktop. Terry has been absolutely superb with his kind help but I still have no IE access. Again Terry has been marvellous and sent me Firefox so at least I am now able to access the forum again. I am now trying to catch up with the goings on on the forum, having been absent for nearly two days.

Hi Angus.

Glad to see you up and running. At least you can connect to the Internet now.

Thoughts:

(1) Does Windows Update work?

(2) I am looking at ways to reinstall Windows without loosing your settings or needing to reinstall any programs. I have done it myself in the past, but it was quite complex. So I'm looking to see if there is an easier way.

Hi all that will get the IE 8 un installed, Here are the safe way to do it.

1. go to control panel

2. thus programs and functions

3. click on the link in the left menu show the installed updates

4.Wait to the list are completed and scroll down to IE 8 Languish pack.(if you have that update if not go to 5)and uninstall this first, take some time so be pasiont.
after you PC have restarted go to the same please 1. 2. and 3.

5.and you find IE8 uninstall and let the PC work to it restarted again
and then you have IE 7.1 back and work perfect and IE 8 are history.

I will Thank Microsoft support Norway for this quic servise
