The rules state that the contest is for SSE users, yes.

But, that might change if there's some serious contestants that do not have it yet want to participate.

Might..  but also.. might not. It's being looked at atm. nothing concrete yet.

Should be sorted soon.

Fred.

p.s. yes, I do believe you were clear on the permission issue already in that previous post. Bit of a shame.. and you can't pass off a unique ship like this as a made up generic model.

Did you NOT just read the post directly above yours? NO PERMISSION.
I did read that, and what I meant by kickstart included managing to obtain permission.

I'm sorry Firestar, I'm lost here and I don't get this permission issue regarding the BIG U.
Lack of material yes, but permission? Who has opposed to see her in SS 2008 or in SSE?
Would you like to elaborate and enlighten me please?

Thank you.

From the guidelines/rules:

"If an existing ship design is used then permission should be granted by design owner if possible (otherwise we may have to alter the ships appearance for it to be included in the game)."

So the ship or design owner (I dunno if they are/can be the same and who that is for the Big U.. mister Lenfest and the USC perhaps?) has to grant permission for the design to be used in the game, or else it has to be turned into a generic vessel, which is very hard with a world famous ship that everyone knows!

I would be shocked if NCL or the conservation society (or who ever owns her) doesn't let us use her.

Believe me, I've contacted them time and time again. They're not interested.

Who NCL or the Conservation people?

Is it logical to assume that you were Firestar12?  :P

Yes, and I've contacted both. Keep in mind the reservation people never owned her.. they were just a bunch of (pretty much) fanboys who didn't really do anything except ask people to raise money.

I can assure you, everything has been attempted. There's a REALLY safe bet you're not going to see her in SSE. Keep in mind this project is nearly 2 years old, and it's safe to assume that I tried my hardest in those two years to get permission and materials but it just won't happen.

Did they say why they won't let you add her in to SS?

SS United States - No More Exciting News

Am I right?
Obviously I can't change the title anymore.

No, they didn't say anything. And they don't NEED to say why. It's their ship. Believe me, it's over. I'm having this topic locked so that people will stop trying to ask why when I've made it totally clear.
