New Project: M/S Gilgamesh
« on: March 26, 2009, 19:16:54 »

Howdy! I am working on a new project for Ship Simulator, I started it today. A fictional cruise ship called the MS Gilgamesh. She is roughly based of the MS Explorer, (A ship I was going to do, but GAP Adventures never wrote me back). Anyways, enough chatter, let me know what you guys think.

Looks great so far, but why is there a crease in the bow? Do you see where I mean?

Could you post another angle please?

I ran out of imagination. I don't know what I should put on her. That was just about the only reason.

Firestar, the main reason of unfinishing every model in your case could be the losing of a desire to model that ship. Modeling can't be something like fast started in full exitement & thinking like till morning you'll finish it. It requiers a huge desire to model exactly that ship, you must be interested only in that ship & must study & know for what porpose & how to model each detail, thing on ship.
It's impossible to work on modeling different ships atthe same time when you have a rising ideas about new projects in the head + hoping that you'll made it all in 24 hours.
Diamant, I find your post majorly offensive! I know I can't model it in 24 hours! But I am not that much of a creative person! I don't ever come trash talking your modeling ways do I? Please then, respect.

Superstructure! Find good photographs of what you would like it to look like, and then absorb and recreate!  ;D

Stick with it, but from time to time take your hands off of it too.. step away, maybe do a side project.. and only model if you really feel like it, so it is fun, and not a to-do..

Perhaps someone has any ideas? Or should I focus on my other two projects right now? If anyone has an idea what they want this to look like, just let me know. :P

Ok, I will. I should work on Volgo Balt sometime though as that will probably be done before SSUS.

After Wave Commander is complete, this project is a very very well candidate of being top priority. SSUS Is too, but I still am not done with that situation.

Well said, Fred. I back you on that. Stick with it my friend. I, too encourage you to find a reference source that you can build on. I must stress, however, take a design as reference and build on it - make it your own and make it unique. Don't just copy it. You, and everyone else, has a hidden creative talent. Explore it, I encourage you.

I look forward to seeing more progress.

Heh, that post is a bit old mate, but yes, you're right. My situation is that I need to get Wave Commander done soon.  :)

"Extreme make over - 3D Hull edition."

Funny it looks like some posts were removed from that topic so is appears that I posted four times in a row. ::)
