No takers? She is the United Arab Shipping Company vessel "Ibn Malik". Built 1977 at Hyundai Shipyard, Ulsan, South Korea. I joined her as second mate at Ulsan during her completion and sea trials and sailed from Ulsan to the Persian Gulf on her maiden voyage. There were four identical ships all built in one large drydock at the same time.

I thought the answer might be she was a single-hull oiltanker, which are being phased out for double-hull oiltankers..

Could have been difficult to isolate as the class numbered around 22-24 sisters... caught many of them in Hull when they were running steel to the Gulf.

Looks like the "Santa Maria" to me Fred, Columbus's flagship.

To Quaysider, It was a sneaky one I know but I thought there might have been the odd guess as there were, as you say, a lot of sister ships, some built in Govan and some at Ulsan.
