She was the Alfred Holt ship Melampus which was one of the 14 ships caught in the Great Bitter Lake in 1967 at the outbreak of the 6 Day War which were stuck there until 1975:

The questioned ship is mentioned on that site, I just took another image of her.

Personally I am very interested in this picture. I am unaware of this vessels name, but I would like to find out as it was one of the undoubted back bone of international trade, and as Mr WM puts it, it is no more nor any less interesting than any other vessel here posted.

So I ask WM not to be distracted and to continue on with his question, to which I seek the answer.

EDIT: Based on its general shape, the image quality and the derricks beside, I would place it in the late 40s/mid 50s. Which would make it a pioneer of containerised cargo and therefore quite interesting after all!
