New one: which cargo-passenger ship is this, and what is special about her..?
Clue: her name begins with RMS........
Second clue: she sails between Capetown-St Helena-Ascension.. ;)
Final clue: last of her kind in the world..

Well, I practically spelled it out..Yes, the last traditional mail ship..

Your go..  :)

"RMS St Helena Saved

May 27: RMS St Helena is saved. Originally it was expected that the RMS St Helena, the last traditional mail ship in the world, was to be retired from service by the British Government and the St Helena Government in 2010 following completion of the new airport on St Helena. The ship is operated on behalf of the two Governments by Andrew Weir Shipping and sails from Cape Town to St Helena and Ascension Island. On occasion it also sails on the classic mail ship voyage from Portland to Cape Town via St Helena and Ascension Island. However it was recently confirmed to me by sources close to Andrew Weir Shipping that the RMS St Helena in fact will not be retired in 2010. This is because, due to the economic crisis, work on constructing the new airport has been significantly delayed and now will not be completed until 2019/2020. As a result the RMS St Helena will continue in service until at least 2019/2020 and possibly longer. So this last traditional mail ship sails on!

We are delighted by this good news and wish the RMS St Helena every success and it seems she has at least another decade of service. We would encourage people to patronise her voyages as much as they can in order to support this fine ship and her classic voyage experience. For further information on the RMS St Helena visit: www.rms-st-helena.com. (Sent in by Alex Naughton)."

Simply the best powerd ferry the ferry has that as one of her rcords

From those words it could be probably the GTS Finnjet (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GTS_Finnjet).

Quote
At the time of her delivery, Finnjet was the fastest, longest and largest car ferry in the world, and the only one powered by gas turbines. At the point of her scrapping in 2008, she remained the fastest conventional ferry in the world, with a recorded top speed of 33.5 knots.

Hehe   A tricky one, VH.  But I was sure that you're about Finnjet, because you're a big fan of her & all those Baltic ferries... ;)
I'll skip my turn in favour of SD.
