Any chance you could record any radio chatter in Marseille and also sounds from near the helm poistion and other locations on teh ship? (If I don't ask, I don't get!)

Thanks!

The platforms are the AL WIT GROEN and ROOD aren't they? These shots are great, as they give me some different angles to the ones I had here.

And the angle of the transit line on the leading lights was exactly what I needed! Thanks again.  :2thumbs:   :2thumbs:

Yeah the platforms have the same colours as the buoys, 'red to port'. Except the leading lights on the splitsingsdam, they are black and white.

Fixed channel markers from the Hoek towards the entrance of the 3rd petroleum haven at the Botlek (where the white-red mid fairway buoy is)

All markers are the same, except the markers on the Maeslandkeering (the flood barrier).

One of the channel markers on the Maeslandkeering.

I'm going to be in Rotterdam on Sunday 7th - Tuesday 9th.

I'll try to make that trip on the Tuesday morning, but I may have to book another trip just for that in a few week's time.

Now, the conversation that Ballast and I have just had is AMAZING!

We are both staying at the same hotel at the same time next week. What are the chances of THAT!

It is all the more amazing because I had only rescheduled it a couple of days ago, as a result of a Client asking me to change the date of my visit to them.

Still wanting more pictures? I'm going to the Isle of Man in August so I can get some pictures of the buoys on the Mersey if you want

Thanks for the offer, Tractorman.

But at the moment, so far as I know, Vstep aren't putting the Mersey into Ship Simulator. I need buoys, markers, rods, poles, perches, lighthouses, transit markers, cardinals, safe passage, dangerous water water markers for environments in Ship Simulator.

If anyone is going near Dover, I could do with some shots.

Also:

New York
San Francisco
Marseille
Hamburg
Padstow
Phi Phi
Sydney

would be most welcome.

Thanks, Nathan.

I may get in the car and drive over to Dover (sheer poetry) at some time, but then again, I may not have enough time.

I also hope to get to Hamburg soon, but I will probably be recording radio sounds, rather than photographing buoys.

Dover eh...

Could this imply that Dover may be in SS2010...

I will have a look through my vast collection of pics from Dover, see if I have anything useful...

I was talking to my Captain about staying on board and rescheduling my training course to a later date because im in quite a hurry to get my sea service days so i can sign on as 2nd officer.

Glad we didnt pulled it through

Another Dover buoy, this one is near the Prince of Wales Pier:

Misc Buoys:

Not sure how relevant, the Port Control Tower and entrance lights:

Any other Dover stuff, just ask, and I will be happy to have a look

There is also a buoy nr the Western Entrance, which marks a ship wreck inside the harbour, Missed that one (I never realised I had a pic of her):

Of course, when Terminal 2 is built, all this will change - the wreck is really needed to be moved for the ferry terminal to have the best possible access/manoeuvrability for the ferries.

They could do, but they was discussing about if was in a poor position to manouvre into some of the planned berths; They want to take her outside the Harbour, I think...
