if it was inside the funnel the crew would've been bombarded by smoke since smoke comes out of the funnels.  ;)  :P

I'm sure they'll make a seperate pipe for the smoke, inside the structure..  :P

weird ship though.. looks as if a ferry, a cruise ship and a couple of submarines had some sort of unholy offspring.  :P

I call this the Triangle...

it seems to be missing over half its hull? or is that meant to look like a triangle?

out of all the ships i have seen on google and here, i still think this ship: ( not ugly but weird)

Cattle Carrier + ski slope + large huge slide (yes i'm talking about the aft of this ship.

oh if you ever wondered what that ship was its called: Ramform Titan Class

Ok this one i have to say is strange looking

it seems to be missing over 200 ft of hull, yet it seems to have a fine bow.

and this is the pic everyone had been waiting for, so how does the aft of this ship look like?

its like half the Titanic still afloat and sailing.

This seems to be a large company that build many of these ships, and this is what happens when two of them meet!

It looks like they started a ship, then couldn't be bothered to finish it...

Some would call this corvette class ugly

However they were build to operate in all weather in artic waters around Greenland.
Could force 3 feet of ice at 4 kts, and more if ramming.
A helo for SAR, 8 depth charges for antisubmarine warfare, (and a vintage gun for stopping fishing vessels :) )
Could survive being trapped in pack ice, without being destroyed by the ice pressure.

One survived a gigantic freak wave, to the surprise of the crew, and one survived collision with a growler.
Only time could overcome those four 'ugly ducklings' build in the early sixties.

What I mean:
if 'noble' function dictates the design, then it is a beautiful vessel.
As a consequence of this, those large fancy box shaped cruise ships - human livestock carries - are ugly to me, but not to the owners whose perception of beauty is $$$

Of course this is only my opinion, and anyway the first year sailing 'Hvidbjoernen' (Polar Bear) I was constantly seasick  ;D

I have found a ship so unbearbly ugly it didnt even deserve to be posted along with those ships.

All of the previous ones are beautiful compared to this monstrosity and whoever built this deserves to rot in the depths of hell...

totally agree.  and did you know the whole lips design is just a fancy way of presenting their motto "Hier ist das Lacheln zu Hause"(Here the smile is at home) not on my face sonny :)

Ok, this is getting ridiculous...

I don't think AIDA ships are too attractive, but they certainly are not "unbearably ugly" and the designers doesn't deserve "to rot in the depths of hell". I think posts are now bypassing true hideousness and replacing it with personal opinion.

Not that you can't have an opinion that is. It's just that this bashing of AIDA ships seems a bit excessive.

I quite agree.. The ship in itself looks like any other cruiseship..
The paintjob is a matter of taste..  ;)

In addition, When on a Cruise, there are better things to do then to hang over the railing and look at the paintjob.
