Hi Steiny.

Youtube says "The URL contained a malformed video ID", which I think means that bbydin05 typed it incorrectly. If you look carefully, the link does have the character | in it, twice. I can't recall seeing that used in links previously.

Grinn.. nice explanation  (i guess firestar just used the "search button" in you tube eh?  hahahaha how ironic)

The ocean star; yes, i've read that manouvering thread as i too crashed completely head-on into an AI agile Solution for not knowing the controls properly (instead of steering away; i careered right for the thing! )

I just think of the Ocean star as a ship with a helm; you know.. a big oar sticking out the back;

When yer standing at the helm you push it to the right to go left.... but yes.. in real it's a bit more complicated; but like mentioned; just practice it in open sea; then put it in a closed environment to see where you are moving to and how fast.

best of luck

Steiny

I agree Steiny. When ever you are un-familiar with a vessel you take it to some place with less traffic and play with it until you can control it in tight situations in real life. When you don't understand how a ship works in ship simulator take it to an sea environment and calm the weather so there are no effects on the ship from weather, play with the controls for a while and see what happens to the ship.

Just play with it a while and get familiar with the ship before you go try a mission with lots of traffic and no room for error. Just think that you are changing the direction of thrust. Think of it as you aren't steering the ship, but you are directing thrust in a different direction.

Best Regards,

Austin
