Yes, But McDonalds isnt fresh.

When you're eating fried minced cow's nostrils and gristle soaked in fat, does freshness matter that much?

Most burgers, sausages etc are basically the meat that looks too disgusting to be sold over the counter. It has to be minced up to hide its true appearance.

Nostrils are the least of it. Remember, no part of a cow is wasted. Ask yourself which bits you don't see in a butcher's shop.

Hey, anyone gone veggie?  ;D

If we didn't eat meat the world would be over run by cows, sheep, pigs and goats

My thoughts! Same as the whales! Everytime they do their doodoo in the ocean the water level rises!

True, and if people stopped shooting pheasants, grouse, partridge and the like we would forever have birds doing their thing on our heads!!

Here in the US you're sort of right but not quite Terry. Those parts don't go into hamburger, they go into hot dogs and bologna and head cheese and extra pig parts also make sultz. My trade is Ironworker (retired now by injury not by choice) and besides erecting buildings and bridges we also move machinery and build and repair conveyor systems. During my carreer I've worked on equipment in the Milwaukee Wisconsin stockyards where the animals are killed and processed and Wispak in Butler Wisconsin where they process the hamburger into patties for Burger King. At Wispak they have stainless steel troughs about six meters long and two meters wide with a stainless steel mixing auger running longitudenally down the length. The workers there toss chunks of thawed frozen hamburger in for mixing. Sometimes they don't thaw the chunks enough and the the auger shaft breaks. Usually they're removed and sent out for repair but once they were in a hurry for one and two of us had to go into the trough to repair it. While my partner held it in place with a chain hoist I welded it back up. They hadn't cleaned the trough and auger completly and while I was welding the meat on the shaft around the weld was cooking. Smelled like a barbecue. It was making my partner kind of sick but it made me so hungry I had to stop at a Burger King on the way home. After we finished they steam cleaned and steralized the equipment while the state food inspector watched.

My personal opinion is Burger KIng is better than MacDonalds but Wendy's is better than both of them, especially their chili.

I'm not saying that there is anything wrong with them, just that is what goes into hamburgers (no ham, strangely), sausages (which includes hot dogs, also known as frankfurters over here), etc.

Mind you, you should see what goes into a black pudding!

You should know what they put in Coke. We discharged a few times liquid fosfor acid at the coke factory in Germany with our vessel. After discharging we had to go in the tank with the deckwash hose to flush out the tank, because there was about 10-15 cm (1/2 ft) of mess at the bottom, including chunks like the size of a rock. They put that stuff in coke and other drinks. That's why i dont drink coke anymore  :P

In the days when I ate red meat, I would have loved it. I have no problem with nostril burgers or earlobe sandwiches.

PS black budding is boiled pigs blood with all sorts of gristle and other junk. Lovely!

Tripe is the stomach lining of a cow.

Haggis is the stomach bag, stuffed with grease, oats and all sorts of odds and ends. Again, lovely, but forbidden these days.

Hey phosphoric acid is lovely. Puts a real shine on your teeth as it disolves the enamel!

You should try it Terry when you are in Holland. Even our Fillipino crew loves it (but i think they dont know what is in it  :P)

Btw, if they make olive oil from olives, where do they make baby oil from...?  8)
