On mine I used your suggested composition and I think that it looks rather good but not like the Titacnic's paint for some reason.

Well, that's what Ken Marschell (sp?) believes it to be.

Is it because you thought the Titanic's funnels were generic orange instead of a unique shade of buff for a long time? Or maybe because you always saw faded versions of the color?
