If every one have soo dam big problems with the grafic, why not just put it on hige!?

The waves are much better, yes grafic are bad... But VS have some good stuff, and not some good stuff, just like SS08, nothing can bee 100% perfect...

Every game except Virtual Sailor is allowed to be discussed here. Why? Are we embarassed about it or something?

No one said it wasn't allowed, but I find it strange how people favor our forum to talk about other games, and ask questions about them. Some small talk about other titles I can understand, after all that's just making conversation amongst members here, but surely specific questions or help with problems are things that are much easier to find answers to on the forum or site of the actual game. That's why I said what I said.

As long as no flame wars are going on between rival games, I don't see why any game should be off limits in the small talk area. Everything goes, within reason. But we are a bit apprehensive about VS it may seem, as that's a more direct competitor, and if you want to know why I myself rather not have many topics about this 'rival' on our forum, then just go to their forum and post about SS08, you'll see how friendly people get when you do that! (Sarcasm, yep)   ;D

I was flamed and banned there, and haven't been back since, a most unwelcoming bunch of people that greeted me into their communtiy and I have no need for their company at all. And just because I refered to SS08. I think the embarrassment should be theirs.  ;)

I do own VS, and I have tried just about every single addon you can find on the net, so I know what I talk about, I'm not saying this as a staff member, I say this as a player of these two games.  :D

Btw J3nsen, I have them on High... but it still looks bad to me. The water is nice, granted, but the land/ports etc are rubbish. And well, apart from a handfull of addons made by knowledgable people and the official boats, most addons , besides looking very bad, behave very very poorly, and dynamics are often a complete laugh. Hence my preference towards SS08. They are indeed both not perfect, nothing ever is, you got that right. But for me there's a clear leader in the genre. Very clear.  ;D

I've tried VS and didn't like it at all. Low polygon numbers means it looks fuzzy and amateur, in my eyes.

I notice that many of the vessels that go through the vessel development section of this forum are actually intended for VS, not Ship Simulator. It seems very poor manners to me when people use this forum to develop things for a competitor.

Perhaps VS would allow people to develop things for Ship Simulator? Bet they won't!

You should of seen the topic Goax made for his "Berge Stahl" model. As soon as he mentioned he was only using the ship in VS for testing until it was ready for SS2008 the topic was placed in the trashbin.

I'm going to make a topic on the VS forum right now about Ship Simulator. I'll be sure to place the link here.

They have a "open topic" section over there where some guy added some screens of the Deadliest Catch game. So if he's allowed to do that go ahead and post some S08 screens. I bet it's trashed before the ports of hell opens :D :D :D

I will agree the only thing better in VS then in SS, I meen standard SS. Is the waves and water, the waves are more real. Because here in SS, its row after row of the same waves.

And, I know that people are posting their vessels saying there making them for VS, but, theres no point in making it for SS since its not a a game in which users may upload ships.

Well the point for expert modelers such as; Mr. Robville, Goax75, DOVMarine, and Myself. Plus all the other payware users out there is that V-STEP might actually like our creations.

Note: Goax75 should deserve a special note, Great Job, by far the best modeler here.

You may not know it but V-STEP does chat around a bit, just not openly on this forum.

They have moderator forums and they all work together in the same office!

You can never tell by the flags on the profiles.

I know for a fact that "Paco/arobotis@townisp.com" Lives in the US but he has a home in Greece so he flies the flag of Greece.

I know Austin, but perhaps you'd been over on vacation. :P

But anyway, I was just joking a bit. You know me well enough by now I guess.  ;D
