How to make Latitude sail in ballast or can I reduce her draught to ballast condition?
It would be extremly amazing to see her sailing through the ocean with the minimum draught!

Are they planning to issue it in ballast? Cargo ships are very limited and by the way they have only one condition...

You never know, the Shipyard will have "New Features" so it's possible

And one more thing. Who can tell me, why she has a trim on her bow in the game. It's an absurd and I mentioned it in all versions.

She still cannot sail in ballast. VSTEP should pay attention on it.
I can't even imagine what to do with her.

Llamalord,
He means she is down by the head. In other words the draft for'd is more than the draft aft. This is called being trimmed by the head. As you can imagine, to handle a real ship in this condition is not funny, it is awful. No self respecting shipmaster would load a ship in this condition.

Inland barges are loaded with a trim forward when they sail upstream at the river. When they run aground (they often load their ship to the max, and further...) they ground at the bow. When they load with a aft trim, they will aground in the middle, and the current will turn the ship.

When they sail downstream they will load their ship with a trim aft for the same reason.

I think I may have posted this somewhere else, but since it's so relevant to this topic I'll post it here.

I was taking the LATITUDE thru the passage between the Ile d'If and the other island, in Marseille, where the depth is shown as 20 meters. Well, the LATITUDE draft is 18 meters so I thought I was OK.  Obviously NOT! It ran hard agound See the photo:

u've already been told, and i also told u to look in the usermanual under "Chart". The depths on the  chart r in feet, the ships draft is in meters.

The manual shipped with Collector’s Edition says that chart depths are in meters, and bow&stern depths on the HUD are meters below sea level.
If you look carefully at the chart, the area between the islands is light blue, indicating shallows. The Latitude should not go there.

mvsmith, as I posted in answer to you in the other forum, the area between islands is white, therefore deep.

And as I posted, the area is shaded to represent depths between 10 and 20 meters.
If you continue to blame VSTEP for your own shortcomings you may find yourself ignored by the volunteers who give up a lot of their time to help.

If you had bothered to check the other topic that you started, you could have saved us both some time.
In the future, do not start multiple topics on the same subject.

There is, of course, a reduced-draught version of Latitude which is not trimmed by the head, available on Creators Forum.

However, this can cause the behaviour of AI vessels to be changed, so that they rise in the water somewhat as the player vessel comes near to them (they switch from the "built-in" AI draught to the reduced draught mode automatically).
