For Praxis and the Maritime Institute Willem Barentsz Terschelling (http://www.miwb.nl/index.php?db=4), we developed an interface between the Ship Simulator 2008 game and external navigation equipment, based on the NMEA 0183 protocol. The result is that you can connect the game also to Dynamic Positioning systems. This video shows Ship Simulator in combination with the Praxis (http://www.praxis-automation.nl/) DP system. But like with SS06 Professional, you can also connect external charting devices (ECDIS) or software programs like WinGPS or Coastal Explorer to the game.
