MSFS - SS
« on: July 11, 2007, 10:50:08 »

I get a bit annoyed about the fact that SS keeps being compared to MSFS. Please stop this.

1) A 2(?) year old game can never be as good as an I-don't-know-how-old-game...

2) ... so you shouldn't expect that SS will be as good as MSFS. In my opinion Vstep did already great work on the SS08 version.

3) I am pretty sure the staff of MSFS is MUCH bigger than Vstep.

4) It is Ship Sim, not Flight Sim.

I probably get flamed, but this is my thought and feeling. Post what you think.

Same here, I always use the FS-SS comparison to demonstate how quickly Vstep are advancing with their game.

As for the age of MSFS, I'm not sure exactly when it came out, but a friend of mine had a 36" monitor in his classroom so he would go in and play FS on it on weekends.  That was back in '88 or '89, because I left Ft. Huachuca December of '89.

I think FS had already been out two or three years then, so that means it would have come out circa 1985 - '87.

Microsoft's budget - No limits
VSTEP's budget - Limited

I'd say they're at a tie with what they have.
