HI ALL
Me and my mother was lucky to have the chance to fly to OSLO and see the Independence Of The Seas (IOTS) 23/4 2008.
A little bit about the Ship and the trip
IOTS is a beautiful ship as her sisters and and her smaller sister ships, IOTS much alike to the RCCL's Voyager class. ect. Navigator Of The Seas (NOTS).
NOTS is 311m long and 38,2m wide and waying aprox. 138.000 BRT.
IOTS is 335m long and is also 38,2m wide, and waying aprox. 160.000 BRT.
So as you can see they are much alike as i said.
We started the trip in CPH (Copenhagen Airport) Wednesday at 4:30AM and was due to leave Cph at 6:25am and then land in OSLO about 7:35am, we then went by train to down town oslo, and was starting to walk to the harbour where IOTS is docked "AKERHUSKAJ" and boy ohh boy what a sight, and what a beauty, i took a lot of pictures, allmost a 100 pic's, but i don't wan't to upload all of them so i have chosen the best one's and i will then share them with you all here at the SS forum, I hope you like them...
the first pic. is a panorama pic, but not one of the best i have made but it's OK tho.
The Next is the spa wich is hanging outside the ship, 35m over the water surface.
And the ships name sign on the STB side front ship.
Just a funny pic of the morring post on the ship.
Then the ship started to leave Oslo.
Here is a pic. where the very very popular Flow rider is placed on the ship, this is the place where you can test your skills on a surfboard etc..
IOTS on her way.
Final Picture of the ship before she disappear. (Goodbye Independence)
The Ship is on her way to southampton where she will be placed the whole summer and will be sailing 10 to 14 day's voyages out of southampton untill november, where she will depart to carribean and sail voyages the whole winter..
I hope you like my pictures and see you on MP soon..
Best regards
Nicolai (Aidablu)
