Ships horn/whistle protocol?
« on: January 01, 2008, 14:37:47 »

Sorry to be a be a bit dim here, but i would like to be a responsible sailor on-line if i can.  Pretty much all i know about the real sea is that i'm not keen on any part of it that's taller than me *Chuckle*.  Crossing those channels between the various Shetland Islands in a small launch in what i took to be a gale, frightened the life out of me, i can tell you.  But i digress.  Horns 'n' whistles?. What situations call for how many toots please?.  Regards, Brian
