No place to land
« on: November 23, 2007, 18:47:52 »

Hi all, Well i've travelled the length and breadth of the solent and i'm blowed if i can find anywhere to get my hover craft out of the water *smile*.  All you old (Bus pass like me) Southampton area peeps will remember the old floating bridge and hovercraft slipways below where now stands the Itchin Bridge.  Be nice to land the hovercraft there like the old days but i guess there must be technical issues here, because nowhere does the water edge overlap land at zero feet above sea level so to speak. There appears to be a continuous wall around the coast line which make me wonder how does 'Trainz' get over it for instance.  In 'surveyor' one can lower the scenery to water level with no problem.  haven't explored European ports yet.  How do you guys over the channel get on with landing your hovercraft?.  Regards, Brian
