Hello everyone,
I am carrying out some tests with ASD the Cratus.
I will briefly explain what I am working on:
The Cratus is made fast at the stern of a ship having a certain speed (up to 10kts) and it is used as escort tug in the different tethered escort methods (direct and indirect mode).
Ships involved in these test are the Latitude,  Ocean Prince, Winner and the Agile Solution.

In order to have a better understanding fo the dynamics I would be glad if someone of you could let me know the following info:

Displacement of the following ships: Latitude, Ocean Prince, Winner and Agile Solution.

Bollard Pull of the Cratus, Fairmount Sherpa and Busgier 2.

Hi GianniPontix,
If you go to "Free roaming" and choose "Ships" you can find the bollard pulls of Bugsier 2 and Fairmount Sherpa, but it is not listed for Cratus I am sorry to say. The displacement tonnages of the ships you describe are not available either I am sorry to say. Bugsier 2 has a pull of 64 Tonnes and Sherpa a pull of 200 tonnes. I cannot find any further details for you regrettably.

Hello Angus, GianniPontix,

BP of Cratus is 85 ton, by experimenting at some distance (50 m?) from a fixed bollard. Up to 10 kts, the available pull could still reach 64 mt from the thrusters, more depending on vertical angle and traction angle...

Agile Solution's displacement is 5486 mt, Ocean Prince 90520 mt,  Winner 16750 mt, and Latitude depends on her draught, of course, the version you are using, at least 120000 mt, 203016 at 18 m draught ...
but you can read it directly in the
C:\Program Files (x86)\VStep\ShipSimExtremes\Projects\ShipSimExtremes\Data\Entities\Dynamics\Latitude.act
file, line 31 (using Notepad or any editor) if the file itself is not compiled (i.e. more than 5 or 6 kB), which would be the case if you are using one of the revised versions.

@LucAtC Coul you please tell me how the BP of Cratus has been tested?
Is there any option to do this without any additional software or "special access" in the settings of the simulator?

Hello GianniPontix,

You are right, it is with the help of the game editor that I tested the BP, not directly from the tow-line but from the thrust of both propellers, between their properties which I can read dynamically. Not as precise as a dynamometer on the line, but I think it to be good enough. The pull was steady, from the center hook to a bollard on a quay, the line being more or less horizontal. I used the "Cretus" version, sister ship of Cratus with ufolev's designed controls. Please have a look at (hope it still works):

There is no direct reading of the traction or of the angles, the line being unbreakable, a David Dunn's line : these values were reserved for Nautis. There are also no interactions being taken into account between propeller wash and other ships/objects, nor between reciprocal interactions between azimuthal thrusters.
Nevertheless, the hydromechanical properties should be of a correct order of magnitude (at least, I hope so).
