Direct Download version of SSE v Steam version

Pardon about that.

Anyway. Is has been some 5 years, or so. Since I had a better PC. And hopefully, in another fortnight, I may have a good, one. (Don't asked, Ha!)

My current Dino, PC still has the current SSE I brought some time, ago.

I am hoping that maybe, I could transfer, that SSE, to the new PC.
(the one you may want to look away, now, the old one. LOL!) Or if you like the new, one. Hee!  
Or would it maybe, not be worth it???

As per Uninstalling and then, Installing. (Or should, I do, a New Install??

If so, which would be better??

1. Direct Download / Installation via SSE Website, version.

or

2. A Steam Version???


And to be honest, would hate to think, that somehow, my older PC. Lost something, that I made have done, to it, like?? Have, versions, of the old as to my meddling.* (Didn't mean, too. Honest. Not Savvy with Computers.)

*I had the CD/DVD, then I wasn't sure what happen. So I tried the DD version (before Steam.) It that possible??

Now, I am embrassed, how, silly can one get. Hope you will not hold to, against me, to much.
(Still trying to learn. D'OH!)

Hi Jock, my advice would be to uninstall and unregister the game from your old PC first..
 Then you should have no problem installing your old game on your new PC (remember your registration key)

Hi.

To all. And Salty Dog.

As I am not so PC Savvy.

At last I have a much improved, PC. However, my computer shop (from my point of view.) sort of took off the Main desktop icon and the Main Menu aspects of my SSE. While doing the transfer from my Old PC to the now, New one. Which leaves (silly) me, about Uninstalling.

I still have the Autorun, Setup and the desktop icons folders/files. (Which I gather link to the main computer aspects, of the desktop, etc.

Er.......! So, where do I uninstall all of my SSE from. And then Reinstall, etc.

I know, this is all a stupid thing to ask. I just don't want to lose, my direct load completely, in a sense of the word.

Hi Jock, I am also not too handy on computers, but I can point you in the general direction
 The path on your old computer is  C: - Program Files (x86) - VStep - ShipSim Extremes.
 There you will find both Uninstall and Unregister,  Run them both.
 After that you should be able to install your old game on your new computer. (I would not recommend Steam)
 As I said, I am also not so 'savvy' about computers, so if anyone has something to add, please do..

 PS: don't forget to install all necessary updates in the correct order

Guess what, as I mentioned due to new Computer, etc. And I didn't mean to forget about having an account etc.

So, I can determine, the best course of action, for me to do. I am kinda feeling at a lost as to what I to do.

I kinda can't look at my old PC, also. (Me, PC savvy, not. Ha! Don't ask.) To, Unregister, etc.

I am prepared to delete all I have, on Ship Sim EX from this PC, and start over.

Including, all the Updates, etc. (which, do I load them, on before I do a fresh download of the full game, or after!! Whoops, I forgot.)

And I hope, I don't have to lose my current keys, here on the forum. That I got from the Shipyard. Plus, the old current main game.

But, if I have too, then, so be it.

Anyway, I thank anybody, who can help, this not so Savvy PC user. 49++ yr old.

Could I kindly, ask assistance of either a Moderator. or a Leading Hand. So I can for once and all solve, my problem. Please see below. Beyond this message.

There, should be an attachment, I added, to show what, I meant.

I know that once, that it's all sorted out. I have to Uninstall then Reinstall, all. Unregister and the register again the keys.

And any extra missing thing, from them??? As I saw in an other Post?

I can't access my Old Computer, sadly. (Do ask, Ha!)

Should, the present situation, Not help.

Willing to delete, everything (does that also mean, I loose, my present keys, fair enough If I have too) that relates to current, SSE.

Buy, afresh, and start all over again.
