Hi all,

Could anyone in the know with professional cameras tell me as to whether this would be any good?

I appreciate that it is not top end, but I'd like to know as to whether it would at least produce something noticeably better than your average household camera.

Reminds me of a Fuji Finepix camera I bought several years ago. I don't know much about different cameras. I would go for something that could film in 1920X1080. Don't just look at the megapixels, this is mostly a gymmick because if the receiver is low quality, you get crappy high res pictures, so to speak. I would prefer lower res but high quality over that.

My advice, ask around on a photography forum, there are no doubt people around who know the little details when it comes to this.

Mega pixels are a awkward now - the more you have means your picture becomes sharper but the less you have wit a bigger sensor area means your images become better at night.
If I was you look on cnet.com for the camrea or Google it! There will be some features you want and others you don't also!

Not necessarily. It only means your picture is bigger. My 3.2 MP camera made more blurry photo's than my friend's 1MP camera. The lens and light sensor are far more important than megapixels. Most people don't know about this and that's why manufacturers can easily sell cheap '100MP' cameras, because that's all people are interested in. It's a gimmick really.

The same goes with stock computers from stores. Just say it has a 1024MB graphics card in it and people will buy it like crazy, even though it has a terrible clock speed and is far below average quality. But I digress.

In the end I decided not to go for the camera, as I thought it would be better to wait for a while and save up for something from a more reputable company where I know what I'm buying.

I've never had problems with ALDI but perhaps it's best not to risk it when you're talking £100!
