Use DirectX 10 graphic card for Ship Simulator 2008 and 2006

Hei,

I would like to know if it´s possible to run SS2006 and/or SS2008 with DirectX 10 ?

Tomorrow I will buy the latest Nvidia GeForce 8800 Ultra GDDR3 768 MB PCI-E graphic card which can handle DirectX 10 futures. If this works I will post some screenshots from SS2006 and/or SS2008 on this topic.

Yes, Ship Simulator (both versions) will work fine with DirectX 10.  DirectX is backwardly compatible with previous versions, right back to DX 5 if I remember right

WoW,you lucky,That means you dont haft to worry about any low frame rates on any game that is coming out right now and this year.

I have now bought the graphic card but I haven´t installed it in my computer yet because my PSU don´t have enough free cables. The graphic card  needs four cables to give the card power from the PSU, in the coming weeks I will fix that, maybe buy a new PSU or fix it in a other way.

As soon as I have fixed this problem I will post some screenshots when all the graphic settings in SS 2006 and SS2008 are on maximum.

 I have a 88oo ultra in my machine running ss2008 and it does the job beautifully
full graphic settings and goes as smooth as silk tho my e6600 cpu is o/cloched to 3 ghand

While waiting I am running my pc with a GeForce 8400 GS 256 MB PCI-E.

Is it a big different between DirectX 9 and DirectX 10, is it better graphic in DirectX 10 than DirectX 9 in
SS 2008 and SS2006 or is it more or less the same. I haven´t tryed my graphic card out yet because my PSU don´t have enough of free cables, so I need to fix that in the coming week.

the water is amazing,bow spray neat, ships are good, land objects are reasonable,characters are bearable
weatha dx10 is beter I see little difference,perhaps if I could have two machines the same with side by side monitors I may see something,I am running on 32 lcd samsung,now thats the bestbig is beautiful
