Activation key is way too short!!!

Hello,

I just bought "Ship Simulator Extremes Collection" PC DVD BOX (Germany) but the Activation-Code at the backside of the book is way too short!

When I try to register the game at the first startup, I have to enter the code in this format:

XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX (5x5)

The problem is, that my Activation-Code, which is on the backside of the book, has this format:

XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX (3x5)

So,  I can`t register the game even when I try my code...

What can I do?

I read about the option to activate the game via this forum, but my Activation-Key is also refused.

Please Help! Thank you.

The activation key is under the CD.

There is just an Activation-Key at the backside of the booklet.

Where did you get the game from?

Big electronic Store, computer game division. I will go there tomorrow to exchange the disk/bundle. Maybe I  just had bad luck. Sh*t happens...it says. It would take too long if I send the product to paradox/vstep, I guess.
grrr... I´m tired of claiming games. This is not the first time.    Maybe I´m nostalgic, but I do remember times, when game installations where easier. I just want to play...  Greetings...

I had a licence mix up when i got Ship Simulator 08 - they forgot they had to put the code in then they sent me another one with a wrong code  - i ended up getting SS08 collectors edition and some gift vouchers for free

I notice more people are having this problem. It seems that there must have been gone something wrong between the distribution of the license key and disk.
3x5 look like Steam activation codes to me. Could you try to download Steam and register this license key to your profile?
It seems that some receive a Steam license key, but a non-Steam installation disk.
