As far as I know, his laptop has a NVidia GeForce 9600M GT graphics card..  :)

You may be right. I'll take your word for it.  However, I couldn't find the graphics card in the service manual for the Pavilion DV7 here:  http://www.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c01689926.pdf

My dv7 is about 2 years old. It has the AMD M880G with ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4200 graphics. I am not sure what model exactly is. I will check when I get home.

It is an HP Pavilion dv7-3057nr notebook....
