Not to sound cliched, but what a long, strange, trip it's been.

Mine too... If you want to make a video of Titanic sinking you might as well not post it on youtube! It is very bad publicity for Shipsim! In fact I'm going to start disliking videos of titanic sinking...

Dexter7, this was a funny post I think.

Have you think about this Dexter7?

First, the Captain of Titanic must have been the worst figure in this case, that he did not thought that he would give Vstep bad publicity when he sailed on that ice, that is bad.

Second, them who have made films of Titantic, both drama's and documentaries. Do they not know that they give Vstep bad publicity?

i think vstep shood make it so that posting vids on u-toob of sinking ship sim ships would be against the EULA.

Make an effort about your English, I can barely understand what you said  :-\

Do you really think people read and follow the EULA?

I've seen on this forum few things that were against it, now imagine all the things that are against it and not posted... and that includes all the people who downloaded the game illegally...

Anyway we are now drifting offtopic...  ::)

I think gab is right I, personally dislike text type.

Also, I don't think people even make effort to even save the EULA!

I'm sorry but what's with the huge taboo agains sinking?

I mean.. holymoly, everytime someone just slightly mentions sinking ships in SS a lot of cables in people's heads seem to snap.
I can understand that in reallife sinking is the worst things that can happen to a captain with his crew. but seriously, is that enough reason to bite so hard to people who want to sink a ship in SS?

Many seem to forget it's virtual and that people should be allowed to play and share their own experiences.
If people want to sink ships, Fine! let them be. they don't hurt anyone.
If they post a video of it, Fine! only interested people will watch it. they don't force you to watch it or anything.
hate to see the sight of something virtual sinking? close the video.
If I see something lugubrious in a video, I close it. simple as that, I'm not trying to convince the author to act diffrently.

It sure is bad publicity to ship owners. In fact it's the very reason the yard I'm working at doesn't want their vessels ingame.
but to completely treat the sinker like he's sick in his head really blows my mind. calm down, he doesn't have a brain tumor, he just has particular interests in things just like many other people.

I'm one of the few people who seem to understand that some want to imagine how it would be like to survive a sinking ship.

I wonder how people will react to gamers who kill innocent civilians in Hitman or GTA, Isn't that sick or what?
bad publicity to kalashnikov, that's for sure!

You said the reason yourself...

all chaos on every topic about sinking ships because of bad publicity seems a little odd to me.
People act like they are personaly highly offended.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to start a fight here, I just feel to share my opinion about this and hopefully be able to discuss this.

Yes you can share your opinion as much as you want

I'm not ''highly offended'' when I see a ship sinking, I however find it very stupid because:
It sure is bad publicity to ship owners. In fact it's the very reason the yard I'm working at doesn't want their vessels ingame.

This is why I keep saying I don't mind if people sink ships in freeroam and don't post videos on youtube. The problem is when players post such videos and then ask for more ships!   :-\

its sorta like the kid who crashes his 15000 $ train set, completely ruining it beyond repair, and asking for a better one.
