The Declaration of Independence was ratified 235 years ago today, right in the middle of a war :doh:

I find it interesting that the UK does not have an analogical holiday :)

No, not really. Americans are over paid,over sexed and-worst of all-over here.

No, just kidding. You take US history seriously without giving a damn about other countries. Here in Britain we seem to be good at hiding our history, whether good or bad. . . Odd when you consider that we were boss of earth for nigh on 200 years.

Now Americas world empire is finishing just like ours (though yours was only a short 40 years or so). Now you can join us in the "once was" saloon!.

And before other countries snigger, "once was" is better than "never was,never will be"
