Calibrating ShipDriver For Extremes!
« on: June 21, 2011, 01:03:34 »

Captains,

It is calibrated on Window 7 and runs well, as far as possible in SS2008.  However, I can't calibrate it to run in
Extremes.   In fact, i don't think ShipDriver is recognized by Extremes!

Any Help will be greatly Appreciated!

Cheers!

I had a lot of problems in the beginning - but I starts read all I find, and now its working well.
First - go to Devices, and see that you have a device, Shipdriver. Rightclick on this and choose Game controller settings, and Properties. You will come to the Test page, and can check how the settings are.
If any wrong, go to Settings tab, and Calibrate, Follow the instructions, and all shall be done.

First I had tried another way to calibrate it, with use of the http://www.piengineering.com/developer/splatsdk.php (http://www.piengineering.com/developer/splatsdk.php)
SDK kit. But, this must be used with very care. It gives control to a lot of functions on Shipdriver, and its possible to reset it. You also find a lot of information in http://shipdriver.com/support/ (http://shipdriver.com/support/)

Use the Device settings - normally it will works fine. Remember put in mode 1 before starts calibraiting, and use the stick - not the steeringwheel when you calibrate.

When I had calibration problems with my ShipDriver I contacted P.I.Engineering Tech Support. They first suggested using the Window's joystick calibration tool. When this failed to rectify the problem they sent me a factory calibration program complete with explicit instructions which did the trick.
I have always found P.I.E. tech support to be very quick to respond to questions and their easy to follow suggestions and fixes have always solved all of my problems. Great support for an excellent product.

Thanks for the response.

The problem in most cases is that I can only receive DE-CALIBRATE not calibrate as a choice!

I will contact PI Engineering and see what they say!

Cheers
