Wierd controls for Orient star when going astern
« on: February 18, 2011, 16:43:17 »

OK, I got in a tight spot in Marseille, and needed to go astern, but when  I put the cotrnols into effect, I just started turning heavily:

The controls were set as seen in attached picture

Now the joystick controls were set at 178' (cause it needs notches to get to 180' - but thats another topic)

Yet the Steering wheel had 34'

Is this the problem?

That's strange, what happens when you set the wheel on 180 degrees?

I was never a fan of the wheel anyway. With thruster or jet driven vessels i always steer with one thruster or jet to get a much smoother turn.

Hmm not sure - I am in PoR now

But I was using the arrows to set the joysticks at 180'
