Graphic Glitches or Bugs?
« on: September 18, 2010, 20:01:39 »

Not sure if there is a thread like this one. The search button didn't help this time. So, Here we go, and when any adm.  or Mod.  thinks it's a) a double thread or b) in the wrong section, I'm sure the let me know.
I found quite a few graphic Glitches as well in the water texture as in the vessel display.
I'll illustrate them as much as possible with self-made screenshots.
In the first serie I show you a strange mirror effect of the free fall life boat of the Agile Solution. It's quite faint, so I pointed some red arrows to the spot I ment.

Hello Aad,
It is indeed a needless reflection of the lifeboat. As "IsReflecting" wasn't tagged, the mirrored  image should also not have been visible. Let the inquest begin, why it was apparent why it shouldn't. I cannot say if it is easy or not to find the reason, but it will be solved anyway.
Thanks for the report,
Luc

Hi Aad,
I find that many of the ships with deployable boats have this little glitch. See "Esperanza" & "RWIII" below. "Fairmount Sherpa" also has this effect apparent.
Regards,
Angus.

It's fun to have bow-waves in SSE, but they behave quite strange. It likes if they travel under water too and appearing on the other side of the passed vessel.
See Attachment #3
Another strange thing happened with the Sigita Mission Meet and Greet.
The first player ship has beautiful bow wakes, bow-waves, wash etc etc. The moment the second Sigita appears , also a player ship, she has only the bow wake but no wash etc.
see Attachement 4 and 5

I had exactly the same effect with the two "Sigitas", but after a very short time the wake did appear for the second ship as she was rounding Stepper Point.

Alas, not when I did that mission. Will wait for the patch (v1.1 -> 1.2) and see if it improves.
BTW, I downloaded the Demo and some things where already altered like the yellow mooring ball turns red, exhaust smoke and radio chatter

It's a great white. You'd better download a bigger boat.....

Having bow waves stop at ships is quite dificult to program. Thats also the reason why they don't effect the ships dynamics if you drive through. Thats something that no video game has been able to program yet.
Still a good feature

Can someone tell me where that secend top-light (between the smoke-exhausts) from the Orient Star is mounted to? There is no (visible) mounting point. Not even a wire or a cable.

Ahoy Eric,
I assure you that the attached screenshot is not edited in any way.
So, is it my eye-sight, is it plain me OR are there different versions of the same vessel in the different language versions of the sim.?
My graphic card is capable to shw the finest lines possible, so why not that 'mast' which is showing on your screenshot?
Kind Regards
Aad
